At the annual Island County Biz Expo on October 15-16, sponsored by the Economic Development Council , Lodge baked goods were once again a hot item for attendees. Speciality items from members’ Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish recipe files – such as lefse, spritz and and goro cookies – were particularly popular this year, but other types of breads and cookies sold well too.
The Lodge has participated in the Biz Expo event for several years now, and anticipates returning next year. This annual bake sale is the Lodge’s main annual fundraiser.
In preparation for the WhidbeyIsland Nordic Lodge’s annual Bake Sale, ovens got turned on Monday October 10th for a special group baking session that included making spritz and goro cookies. What fun! And how lucky the folks will be who get to buy these specialties!
The Bake Sale will take place at the Island County Biz Expo, sponsored by the Economic Development Council, on Saturday and Sunday October 15-16 in the Coupeville High School Gym.
Get there early if you want to be able to choose from a large variety of Scandinavian goodies!
