Monthly General Membership Meetings
Lodge members gather together the 3rd Saturday each month at 10:00 a.m. September through May. Most membership meetings consist of a general business meeting and a program which supports the purpose of the Lodge, and are open to anyone interested in attending. The exceptions are the December & May meetings. In May of each year the Lodge celebrates Syttende Mai & its Anniversary and in December the Lodge holds a Julefest for members & guests only. All meetings & special events are held at the Nordic Hall located at 63 Jacobs Road, Coupeville. Information about the specific programs at each meeting may be found on the Home page and/or Calendar page of this site.
Each year Lodge members have special festive events to commemorate Norways’ Constitution Day (Syttende Mai), the summer solstice (Midsommarfest) and Christmas (Julefest). Use the search feature on our Home Page to find more information about these events and to view photos.
Language Learning opportunities
A Norwegian conversational group is currently meeting on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Nordic Hall – September through June. See our Calendar page for details and to confirm meeting dates, as occasionally the meeting date is changed. The focus of participants in this group is keeping up their language skills – with a cup of coffee in hand of course! Other conversational groups are being encouraged.
Nordic Book Discussion Group
Once a month September – June, interested Lodge members and others from the community gather together to discuss either a book written by a Scandinavian author or a book with some kind of Scandinavian theme – fiction or non-fiction. Want to know what we’re reading in the coming year? Here’s a link to our Reading List for 2018. Want to know what we’ve we read in the past? Here a link to a list of Books Read 2012-2017. Meetings at the present time are held the first Thursday of each month September through June at the Nordic Hall beginning at 1:30pm. See our Calendar page for details and to confirm meeting date, as occasionally the date is changed. For more information about this group, email email@example.com
On the 3rd Thursday afternoon of each month 12:30-4:00pm, Nordic Hall doors are open to members & friends to work on their favorite craft. This group gathering is not structured to provide teaching except incidentally as those present share their projects. It’s an opportunity to make progress on your own projects and visit with other crafters. Bring your needlework, scrapbooking, carving, rock trolls; bring whatever craft is small enough to bring with you! Enjoy the company of other crafters.
On the 2nd Wednesday of each month beginning at 1:00pm, Lodge members meet at the Nordic Hall for an afternoon of games – indoors and out.
Nordic Trekkers meet for a group walk on the 4th Tuesday of each month at locations such as Ebey’s Landing, Rhododendron Park and the Kettles trails. For more information about this activity please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
